"I was the Mayor for many years in Chatham Township when we held the municipal tax rate consistent and at the same time did not cut services, programs or people...It wasn’t magic or sleight of hand. It was fiscal discipline combined with one other simple fact that is especially helpful in our highly desirable Township. As your neighbors remodel, add-on or build new homes, the value of their homes increase. As the value of homes increase across the Township, the amount of municipal tax collected in total also increases...Mark Lois represents a drive to return to a consistent municipal tax rate.
