"As any reasonable person knows, and most residents of Chatham Township are reasonable, a Twenty Percent increase in the municipal tax rate (the only tax over which the Township Committee has control) in just two years since the Democrats obtained control of the Committee for the first time in recent memory is an absolute disaster. Likewise, indiscriminately raising taxes just because you can but for no specific purpose other than to compile a slush fund for non-specific future projects or to pay down favorably-financed debt that doesn't need to be paid down (while at the same time massively increasing municipal debt for other purposes) is fundamentally imprudent."
